Better for thicker beards This is the first beard balm I've purchased, and it's about 10x better than the oil I was using. It's a lot better for a thicker beard, as it has a better "hold" on the stray hairs. My only critique would be it doesn't have enough stay for me, but it still does wonders! Smells great and not too strong.
better than i expected the beard balm is great!! smells great and really gives my facial hair a shine and softness. I rally like it and will order another one soon.
Big Thicket This balm is of great quality, it feels good, and it definitely helps to keep my beard under control. It definitely has that cedarwood and pine needle smell to it, so I thought it would be perfect for an outdoors fellow like myself. However, my wife made the comment one day that the balm smelled like a gerbil cage.... now I can't help but think of a gerbil cage every time I put it on. For the record, it doesn't smell bad at all and I will continue to use it for the next few months. It smells just like cedarwood, pine needles, and the great outdoors.... but so do gerbil cages.... if you've ever bought cedar chips for a dog kennel or something similar, you know the exact smell I'm talking about. Its a good smell, but its something I personally relate to animals.

I tore into the package like a 10yr old on Christmas morning. I slapped some on my furry growth and immediately went outside and cut down my Oak Tree and my neighbors Pine Tree. Not only did I find a Texas company worth supporting, but a beard company that has a nice selection of products. The Big Thicket Balm is a fantastic product. Big Thicket The scent at first threw me. I now smell clearly the pine leaves and cedar. It's a nice mild scent and a soft hold. Very nice.
Big Thicket <p>This stuff really smells great. It holds very well. I am unlucky in that I have a thin spot on my right jaw line top of the neck. I can use the Big Thicket balm to do a little strategic alignment which covers the bald spot. Good stuff.</p>

Big Thicket Balm My favorite scent in a product that really helps you shape the mane. I use this in place of the oil when I am going out with the lady and wish to shape/hold the beard a little better. Like the oil, I would give it 5-stars if the scent was just a little more potent and lasted a little longer (definitely a personal preference).
Big Thicket balm I have ordered this exact item in the past, and it smelled more like the woods and pine needles then. I really liked it! The one I just received in the mail smells a lot less like that and more like pencil shavings. Also, the balm consistency is not the same, and does not manage my beard as well. Something must have happened with this batch... Not entirely satisfied with it, that's for sure.
